Patek Philippe Watch Sets Record at Antiquorum Auction
At its latest auction event, entitled “Important Collectors’ Wristwatches, Pocket Watches”, Antiquorum managed to top the previous reccord held by the Longines watch that belonged to Albert Einstein with a rare Patek Philippe platinum watch, which was sold for the astounding amount of $660,000.
There were 388 watches available at this auction, 75 percent of which managed to get a new owner living anywhere in the world, from Japan to Sweden and Taiwan.
“Our December sale was clear confirmation that collectors are continuing to enthusiastically buy high-end timepieces,” said Julien Schaerer, Auctioneer & Watch Director, Antiquorum USA. “Quality brands such as Patek Philippe are very much in demand, demonstrating the watch market has maintained its strength in spite of the recent economic downturn”
